If you are looking to have some landscaping done to your property your search has ended with Palumbo Landscaping.

I contacted Joe Palumbo in early March of 2008 with some things that I wanted done to my front yard.   He came to my house, spent quite some time outside in the cold as he listened to me explain what I was thinking of getting done,  he offered some suggestions of his own as well which I greatly appreciated.  Joe said he would have an estimate to me within two days and he did.  Once I decided to move forward with my project he and his crew had the plans ready just waiting for road restrictions in my area to be lifted. 

My project consisted of tearing out my sunken cement front steps and sidewalk, repairing and prepping for new cement steps and sidewalk, adding a  patio and putting in two huge cement pads in front of my garage and pole building, along with a total makeover of my front yard.  The front yard is surrounded by a fence which partially needed to come down to get the work done.  Joe and his crew graciously put up a temporary fence in the back yard for my dogs while the front yard was being worked on.  That spoke volumes to me that he would care that much to not just help me get the temporary fence up, but they did it all without me while I was at work!  He even purchased the materials for it.  I know of no other business that would go that extra mile for its customer.

The end result is nothing short of spectacular!  I have beautiful perennials and cedar mulch and decorative boulders along with low voltage lighting that is breathtaking after dark.  Joe and his crew are very hard working, courteous, knowledgeable and extremely personable and nice to be around!  The project didn't take long at all, just a few days.  As a part of the project they had to remove my existing plantings but rather than just throw them they surprised me by creating a new perennial bed off to the side of my property and transplanted my existing perennials.  I was so surprised when I came home that evening, I could hardly believe they  would take the time to do that for me! 

I've received numerous compliments on my yard and I have Palumbo Landscaping to thank for it.  My yard was transformed into a beautiful, tranquil oasis at the hands and creativity of Palumbo Landscaping.  I highly recommend Joe and his crew!

To The Prospective Customer Looking For A Landscape Professional or Service Contractor (since Joe Palumbo and his employees do much more than landscaping):

I'm writing this letter because I know how difficult it is to choose someone who or a company that you will need to trust with important work. I've been hiring contractors for over thirty years. Joe Palumbo and the crew that completed the work around our home lived up to my trust and exceeded my expectations. Joe Palumbo's nature seems to be such that a customer's mind can be at ease prior to, during, and after project completion.

In this day and age of people who don't return phone calls, Joe kept me informed at all times.

Joe's workers are hard working professionals who take pride in their work. Joe demonstrated that he leads by example.

I take a lot of pride in our property but Joe and the crew that worked for us were more fastidious than I would have been. Among other things, they used a blower to clean our patio and the area of our lawn that had the most traffic.

I'm retired so I was home while the crew was working. I went out several times each day to see how and what they were doing. Every time I went out to see them, they were working hard and doing a much better job than I would have been able to do or would have known how to do.

They straightened a cement slab and repaired the entrance to our shed without being asked and didn't charge for either item. Neither item was included in the estimate. Both were a very pleasant surprise.

Joe and his crew spent much more time than Joe included in his estimate. He did so willingly, happily, and still finished on schedule. He seemed to derive as much or more satisfaction from the appreciation I expressed as the average contractor seems to derive from the money the customer pays.

I'm a detail oriented and difficult person to please. I sent one landscaping crew packing before they set foot on our property when I saw one of the crew members snuff a cigarette out where he parked on the road in front of our home. I sued another landscaper for twice the amount he charged us and was awarded every penny. I gave Joe a $240 bonus. As soon as he realized that I had paid him more than his stated fee, he said "I'm going to share this with the crew. They really worked hard and did a good job."

I feel comfortable recommending Palumbo Landscaping & Services. I found them to be conscientious and more than fair. Joe seems to be a gifted visionary who knows how to implement his vision. I engaged Palumbo Landscaping in the summer of 2006 for a landscape project.  The project was a major overhaul of the landscaping around my entire house.  The project included:

Complete tear out and removal of all existing landscape and turf
I had a huge mole problem Joe managed to rectify
Multiple large & small boulder walls, both decorative and structural
Edging around my entire house
Decorative shredded mulch
Many unique plantings (both shrubbery & perennials)
Two smaller Paving Stone areas
One very large Paving Stone patio with a built in fire-ring
One staircase & several small steps built with replica natural one-piece stones
One Natural stone pathway
Fresh specialty shade sod & topsoil throughout my entire property
A complete irrigation system
A total underground gutter system

This work was completed on time and exceeded my expectations.  This is one of the better investments I have made on my house from the standpoint of increased value as well as curb appeal.  Furthermore, I enjoy the zero maintenance patio that was built.

In addition to the above, Joe surprised me with a solid stone bench using my old fireplace mantle and a few extra paving stones he had leftover from the patios.  The bench now sits near my front door and looks awesome. He also dealt with poorly attached gutters on the house and remounted them.  He also cleaned the gutters from years of leaf and dirt buildup.  To top it all off a few weeks after the job was completed he stopped by and left 2-bags of firewood, a firewood holder and fire-pit utensils for the fire pit he built.

I have owned companies ranging from construction to technology.  During my time running these different companies I have worked with many partners, employees and subcontractors. Joe is hands down one of most professional and hard working people I have ever worked with.  Joe and his crew embody these qualities:

To future customers:

I began a project to put a sports court in my backyard in the summer of 2005.  I say “began” because the project did not really go all that smoothly and was not finished until May, 2006.  I was left with a court that needed landscaping around its edges, plus a large section of my lawn that had been ripped up very badly due to the shoddy workmanship of the company that put in the sports court.

I had heard about Palumbo Landscaping from a friend and had Joe out to my house to look over my yard, give me some suggestions, and provide me a quote.  I found Joe to be extremely knowledgeable and he had some great ideas on things that could be done in my yard.  He provided a very detailed proposal, with different ideas broken out, so I could prioritize which parts of the project I wanted to do right-away.  In the end, in addition to the landscaping around the court and the lawn repair I needed, I also decided to have Joe and his crew re-do the landscaping around my entire house, build a fire-pit in my backyard, and landscape around a large river birch in my front-yard.  There were some other things that I decided not to go ahead with right away and will take care of in the future.

I have not always had great luck with contractors I have picked, but Joe and his crew were absolutely great to work with.  When they came to work, they really came to work!  Every day they were at the house, you could clearly see the accomplishments.  They did the work at my house in some of the hottest temperatures of the summer, but that didn’t slow them down at all.  I had three of my neighbors comment on how hard Joe and his crew worked.

The finished project looks great.  My plan is to have Joe back out to my house every spring to see what needs to be refreshed with the landscaping.  Joe and the crew at Palumbo Landscaping were a pleasure to work with and I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Being committed to excellence yet prudent with our money, we always look for a contractor who is willing to work within our parameters, not force us into theirs.  Joe is exactly that type of contractor! 

 We put in a patio last fall.  We had a general idea in mind, but could not come up with a final design we were completely satisfied with.  When Joe came out to bid on the project, he had great ideas not only on how to make the patio super attractive, but also on how to help us save money by making a few adjustments to our basic plan. 

 In addition, we were on a specific timetable that had very little wiggle room.  Joe & his team, did a great job of meeting our timetable even though they faced huge obstacles at another job site.  Under the stress, Joe remained cool and calm, never communicating frustration.  He dealt with everything courteously and efficiently. 

 The patio we put in is absolutely beautiful!  Joe did the difficult part of preparing the site, while we put in all the tile. He gave us more than just a hard day’s work.  He gave us his expert advice, answering our many, many questions, while guiding us through the whole process, even to picking out the materials to finish the job.  The excellent work his crew did on the foundation made our job of laying the tiles and putting in the edging super easy!

From the initial estimate to the final completion of the project Joe
was very detailed oriented in determining exactly what I was looking for. He didn't just walk the yard once and come back with a bid that I wasn't sure even met my expectations. He listened to my wants and made suggestions which really improved the overall look.

Joe and his crew are true perfectionists. The final product was a thousand times better than I even imagined. I am pretty confident that the large boulder wall he constructed wouldn't have looked half as good if someone else would have built it. He even fixed some edging (on his own time) at the neighbors' house that wasn't installed correctly or at least not to Joe's standards.
